We sincerely thank all those who gave so generously to St Mark’s College in 2016.
We were honoured that over 50 Old Collegians and friends of St Mark’s were able to join us this week in the Master’s Garden to celebrate the difference they have made to the lives of our students and the future of the College.
The Master, Rose Alwyn thanked the guests for their donations in support of our Annual Giving campaign, scholarships, fulfilling a pledge for a previous capital campaign, making a bequest in a will or making a general donation, all of which have been very gratefully received as a symbol of their investment, belief and commitment to St Mark’s and its students.
James Price, President of the St Mark’s College Foundation also thanked our donors and presented Emeritus Professor Ivan Shearer AM RFD, a member of the 1925 Bequest Society with his pin.
In speaking with guests at the function it was apparent just how proudly they support the key values of the College and the commitment it takes to continue to provide an extraordinary experience to students at such a critical point in their lives. In particular they mentioned the value of the tutorials, the strength of the global network of alumni who span most industries and countries and having world class facilities. They also acknowledged how St Mark’s provides a place for young adults to receive an ‘all round’ education, both academically and personally by being a member of the College community that prepares and inspires them to contribute to making a difference in the world.
Our donors help us to provide an extraordinary life experience and education to students that is a hallmark of St Mark’s residential college life, and for that we thank you.
